Who we are
ChallengeMeUp ("we", "us") runs this app, where people create and join real-life challenges together. We are the data controller for the information described here. Questions? info@challengemeup.com.
What we collect
- Account: email, name, password (hashed), and anything you add to your profile (photo, bio, location, interests).
- Activity: challenges you create or join, check-ins, results, ratings, messages, and friends.
- Technical: basic log data (IP, browser, device) needed to run and secure the service.
- Analytics (only with your consent): anonymous usage stats via cookies — see below.
Why we use it
- To run the core service (accounts, challenges, chat, profiles).
- To keep the app safe (spam, abuse, no-show protection).
- To improve the app (analytics, only if you accept cookies).
Cookies
We use two kinds:
- Necessary cookies — needed to log in and keep the app working. Always on; the app can't function without them.
- Analytics cookies — off by default. They only load if you press Accept all in the cookie banner. We use:
- Google Analytics 4 — anonymous usage stats (pages visited, IP anonymized). Google's privacy policy.
- Meta (Facebook) Pixel — measures ad performance and helps us reach similar people. Meta's privacy policy.
If you press Only necessary, no analytics or advertising cookies are set and Google/Meta scripts never load. You can change your mind any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.
Sharing
We don't sell your data. We share it only with providers that help us run the app (hosting, analytics, and advertising as listed above), and when required by law. Your public profile and challenge activity are visible to other users by design.
Your rights
You can access, correct, or delete your data, and withdraw cookie consent at any time. Email info@challengemeup.com and we'll help. If you're in the EU/EEA, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Retention
We keep your data while your account is active. Delete your account and we remove your personal data, except what we must keep for legal or security reasons.
